Christopher Mesa is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and percussionist from Glendora, California. Christopher has graduated from Azusa Pacific University (APU) with a Bachelor’s of Music in Commercial Music: Composing and Arranging. Currently, he is attending APU in pursuit of a Master of Music in Composition. At the moment, Christopher is studying composition under Philip Shackleton and has studied percussion under Bill Schlitt and composition under Mike Watts during his undergraduate years. As a percussionists, he has played in APU’s Studio Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. In addition, Christopher has interned for Nicholas Cazares, who is an individual that works for the Disney Music Library as a copyist, music librarian, and orchestrator. While interning for Cazares, Christopher got to work and understand the process of music preparation. Currently, Christopher is teaching drum set and percussion for the Azusa Conservatory of Music, which is a community music school that teaches young musicians pre-k and up. Aside from composing and percussion, Christopher also enjoys playing the bass guitar, piano, and guitar. As Christopher looks forward to his future, he hopes to be involved with music under the film, tv, and gaming industry.
