About
Christopher Mesa is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and percussionist from Glendora, California. He has graduated from Azusa Pacific University (APU) with a Master’s of Music in Composition and a Bachelor’s of Music in Commercial Music: Composing and Arranging. During his studies at APU, Christopher has studied composition with Philip Shackleton during his masters and Mike Watts during his bachelors. In addition, He has also studied percussion under Bill Schlitt and drum set/hand percussion under Mark Converse. Christopher has performed in APU’s Studio Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band.
For work, Christopher has interned for Nicholas Cazares, who is an individual that works for the Disney Music Library as a copyist, music librarian, and orchestrator. While interning for Cazares, Christopher got to work and understand the process of music preparation. He has also taught drum set and percussion for the Azusa Conservatory of Music, which was a community music school that taught young musicians pre-k and up. At the moment, Christopher privately teaches music lessons for drum set, percussion, and piano. As Christopher looks forward to his future, he hopes to be involved with media music for the film, tv, and gaming industries.
